Legionella Update 'just when you thought it was safe to get out of the shower'
There are typically 300 to 350 cases of Legionnaires' disease in England and Wales each year. However, in 2006 the incidence rose sharply and this unexpected increase has not been satisfactorily explained. One suggestion is that is was climate related, but the lack of certainty highlights that there are many aspects of Legionnaires' disease are not understood. This conference brings together key experts in the field of Legionnaires' to consider the many facets of this disease and the challenges for the public health community.
The conference will provide essential updating for CCDC's EHO's, water company staff, medical microbiologists, tour operators, plumbing and heating engineers. |
