Customers turn to Pall for effective and reliable venting solutions.
An effective and reliable venting medium consistently provides a high level of protection against infiltration and contamination from the environment, while permitting bidirectional airflow to prevent overheating and pressure destabilization. Our venting media provide outstanding protection for applications in a variety of industries, including electronics, food and beverage, and automotive—even under the most challenging conditions.
Venting Basics Venting involves the transport of air, gas, or vapor through a porous hydrophobic and/or oleophobic medium, into and out of a confined area, while liquid and contaminants are repelled at the surface.
A hydrophobic medium repels high surface tension liquids such as water, and generally will not wet out in aqueous solutions such as salt water, rain, and cola.
An oleophobic medium repels both low surface tension and high surface tension liquids, and generally will not wet out in oil-based solutions such as gasoline and most other automotive fluids and lubricants.
The passage of air protects against extreme or fluctuating pressures and temperatures that can occur during the manufacturing process or within a product during normal use.
The medium serves as a barrier against debris, moisture, microorganisms, and other undesirable elements.
Pall has a long history in venting media design and production.
Pall has been developing and manufacturing venting media for more than 60 years. Known for their endurance, strength, and versatility, Pall’s hydrophobic media and oleophobic media meet requirements across a wide range of applications in a variety of industries. By assessing your venting, physical property, and formatting requirements, your local Pall representative will help you select the medium that is best suited for your application.
